Fiore Favaro – Pianist & Teacher
Born in Treviso, Italy, in 1986
Fiore Favaro is an accomplished Italian pianist known for her expressive interpretations, deep musicality, and passion for chamber music. Her career combines a rich international performance history with a dedication to teaching and artistic collaboration.
She studied with Luisa Guariglia, Alessandro Commellato, Riccardo Zadra and Filippo Gamba.
Throughout her studies in Italy, Fiore distinguished herself by winning numerous first prizes as both a soloist and in duo formations at prestigious competitions, including the “Premio Fondazione CRT,” “Città di Piove di Sacco,” “Città di Cantalupa,” “Dino Caravita,” and “New Horizons” in Arezzo.
Her concert activity has brought her across Europe and to Mexico, with performances in prominent venues such as the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, where she played in 2013 in duo with pianist Aleck Carratta.
Fiore has participated in masterclasses with some of the most renowned pianists of our time, including Stephen Kovacevich, Zoltán Kocsis, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Ferenc Rados, Aldo Ciccolini, Bruno Canino, and Stefania Redaelli, further refining her artistry and interpretative insight.
From 2011 to 2013, she was a member of the Hirzen Pavillon Ensemble. As part of a piano-cello duo with Finnish cellist Joonas Pitkänen, she won prizes at several international chamber music competitions, including the Orpheus – Swiss Chamber Music Competition, Basler Orchestergesellschaft Musikwettbewerb, and the 1st August Pickard Duo Competition. Together, they recorded a complete cycle of Beethoven’s cello sonatas, released on a double CD.
Today, Fiore Favaro continues to perform in various chamber ensembles, driven by her deep love for collaborative music-making. Since 2017, she has been teaching piano at the Musikschule Basel, where she inspires the next generation of musicians with her experience and enthusiasm. Since 2024 she is a member of the Taru Ensemble.
